The day starts early in the morning at 03:00 a.m, we will pick you up from your hotel and make a trip of 2 hours approx. to the town of Pitumarca, picturesque village south of the city of Cusco, this is where we will stop to buy some things that perhaps we have forgotten in the rush as rain ponchos, mineral water or energy drinks, snacks, etc.
After this short stop, we’ll continue our journey through magical landscapes that seamlessly are mixed between mysterious snowy mountains, multicoloured crops, camelidos Andean and deep valleys to observe very picturesque villages as Ocefina, Chilca, this will be where we’ll descend to our transport and have some time to stretch our legs and relax from the trip, here is where you could taste a nutritious Andean breakfast with the residents of the area and have some time to organize the rest of the things that we need for the walk that will take approximately 3 hours (7.5 km) up the mountain, we’ll go through the town of Machuraccay and then to the foothills of Vinicunca where villagers have organized of a appropriate manner a checkpoint and collecting 10 soles to enter this mystical place, there we’ll begin to walk a path step by step is changing the landscape among mountains of intense colors and small streams of ice water that nourish and give life to the valley, we will see how the colours around us is changing with the movement of the unpredictable weather of the mountains, We’ll reach an altitude of 5,033 meters.
Top of the mysterious mountain of 9 colours (Vinicunca), here we’ll have enough to capture images of memory time and enjoy a nice snack while sight revels in the magic that enclose the mountains behind its veil of clouds and snowy peaks after a so exquisite experience, we’ll start our way down filled and ecstatic beauty and such a pleasant experience.
The way down is much calmer and more easily, we’ll arrive to the town of Chilca where we will be waiting as a reward a very nice lunch prepared by our Andean Chef and share the experience with the rest of the group, then we’ll return to our buses which will bring us back to Cusco where we will arrive in average at 7 or 8 on the evening to our respective housings.
Note: During the ascent, we will have a horse of backup in case of some emergency since the change of altitude is very sharp.
